Hello to all Im new here and I hop im doing this right.
I have a 1991 Heil heat pump. when it is in cooling mode the compressor unit (outside unit) comes on and works well for about 10 min. then shuts off for about 35min. like something is getting hot.Cools down and does the same thing
never comes on and stay on until the thremostat it cool enough the indoor temp is 90deg and the temp is set at 78deg
last year it worked fine what went wrong this past winter. HVAC guy i talked to said he has no idea what could be wrong and didnt even offer to come and look. If anyone has any Ideas I would sure Thankyou. Rick

Be more assertive with your HVAC friend, don't wait for him to offer to come look, tell him you'll buy him pizza and beer. LOL.

We've been doing so much, for so long, with so little, that now we can do almost anything, with nothing at all.

Could be the lps.
He needs to call a service company, and stop waiting for his friend.
