none of the supply houses here in great falls mt have them i have been trying to find one online but cant. Can I get one direct from trane?

Check the equipment spec sheets... they will give you a chart for the different types of metering devices.
Some will even go further with SP, LP, Amps, SH, SC, etc, etc...

There is a guy on ebay that sells Carrier charts for like 15 bucks. I have a SH-31 and never using it.Its good for P/M work. Or as a learning tool, But you cant beat a good thermometer and a Temp Clamp. I carry a Fieldpiece thermometer and a Fluke line clamp in my tool bag fits nicey nice in bag. If you got a Fluke 16 they work well for line temps as well.

174 - 80 = 94
94 - 86 = 14
14 / 2 = 7
7° super heat for your senario.

Here's a source with a minimum order of $10, but you can meet that by buying an R-22 slide-chart and an R-410A slide-chart, plus shipping of course.

I see you are in Great Falls. Go to the Johnstone Supply there and ask them for one. They are a Coleman supplier and Coleman has such a slide rule. I have several.
Coleman has them for both R22 and 410A.
