    I see many references to Carrier in the forum but not very many to Bryant. I have been told by two local contractors that they are identical equipment. Both were pushing Bryant. Are they the same or are they just two different lines from the same company?

    Everything is identical except for the high end outdoor units. Carrier has their Silencer System with special fan top and very heavy grille. Bryant doesn't get it. Many prefer the Carrier design but it makes no difference in performance and sound rating numbers are very close so if you like a Bryant dealer, go for it.
