    Heatilator GCDC36 pilot oriface replacement

Does anyone know if I have to go through the top (where the logs are) to access the pilot assembly for pilot oriface replacement? Or is there a way to drop the whole assembly out from the bottom (where the gas valve is).

Any detailed advice from a Pro member please give answer on my other thread in the technical advice forum:

If I am thinking of the correct unit, you need to go through the top. To fully clean the fireplace you should remove the logs anyway... and they come out in one piece all attached to the grate. Pretty simple.
