I recently purchased a home in the Houston area with a lennox 410A system it is not cooling and has been diagnosed with leaks at both evaporator coils. The home remains within warranty with regards to parts but labor will come out of my pocket.

By the way the home is less than two years old!

I am looking for a quality technician that is up to speed on these 410A systems for annual maintenance and servicing upon the installment of these coils by the contractor servicing the warranty.

    Any advice?

    Thanks, in advance.....

I know I was pretty vague but does anyone have any input with regards to the potential problem with these evaporators experiencing leaks in such a short time.?

There must be an evaporator crisis in Houston. Or maybe a contractor looking to make an easy buck off warranty repairs.

Home is just two years old: New Installation/New Home

    Service history:

1/10/03 - Started both Heaters - Installed Dampers

1/13/03 - Installed Zone Control System

1/23/03 - Thermostat change outs/swaps and added Humidity stat air cycler downstairs

4/28/03 - Had to add 8#'s of freon leak in evaporator coil found

5/7/03 - Installed new evap coil and pressured up system

1/23/04 - New control board installed

    6/18/05 - 4 ton - Unit 5#'s low on freon 2 ton Unit - 2 #s low on freon

6/21/05 - Both evap coils diagnosed with leaks.

By the way I don't know what to think about the diagnosis, I am somewhat in a quandary dealing with warranties and the such.

I have decided to go with an other opinion from a reputable company in the houston area that has no ties to AHS or the homebuilder.

AHS? You should have mentioned them earlier, we could have cut the thread short.
