    I'd be the first to tell you...

    ...that I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to all things HVAC but...

    Yes, that's silicone caulking securing what's left of the acorn nuts holding that fan in place...sigh...

    looks like an attempt to repair the cracks in the top panel where the motor mounts. As far as the copper.... I guess the just connected back to the old where it was cut off.

    I've grown used to...sigh...my vender leaving an extra el or two in but this took the cake.
