    All -

I have a quote on two York Affinity systems - the 3S and 8T ... and looking at the brochure, one of the claims is that these units have "Exclusive Hot Heat Pump Technology" where the these systems deliver air at higher discharge temps. No stats are used to back this up though - ie how high are the temps compared to conventional and is the difference meaningful. Does anyone have any insights on this?

    Thanks ! Dan

They are doing what Carrier can do with theirs. Actually about any can. They run the blower slower so the air coming out is warmer. It's not efficient that way, head pressure goes through the roof. But it does put out hot air. On the Stealth, the run on 100% capacity with low blower output. Carrier has the same feature. They call their regular mode "efficient mode" if that tells you anything about the "comfort mode" and operating costs.

I think the winter mode of running the blower slow would be much more of an impact on efficiency than slowing the blower in the summer too.

As baldie said, the air will come out warmer in hot mode, but it drops eff.

Its a nice feature, if your supply lay out is such that the air blows directly on you.
