    You gotta be kidding.

    This is a joke,right?

I'm sorry but a professional member does not ask this type of question.

    Are you a student?

    If so where?
We've been doing so much, for so long, with so little, that now we can do almost anything, with nothing at all.

Gotta agree with a/c Don. You come across sounding like a moron. Either provide a few more details or don't bother posting such dumb thing.

    Long moment of silence.

Maybe you should have checked to see if the txv is working.

Maybe you should ride with another tech for awhile.

Maybe you should take courses for trouble shooting.

Got to the "FOR YOUR INTEREST" area, and READ for the rest of the weekend!

Then come back and ask questions.

Of course I apologize if it was a 100 horse unit, and he was using 30 lb. cyclinders to charge it.

Actually, that's not what he said.........He said he put the r22 "on it"....maybe that's why its not changing the line temp and it's still freezing up! I always thought you had to put the freon in it.

you guys may think this is funny but ill tell you there are
probably 98% of all residential techs that do not know how to charge txv systems. or for that matter orfices. most think they just got to get a 60 or 70 lb suction and thats it. they donot understand subcooling and superheat which if you dont you do not understand the refrigerant process.

i find systems overcharged all the time. they think when a compressor fails it just failed and theres really not a reason. just install a new one and go on.

I agree with airworx, too many techs who just flat out do not know. I once got into an argument with a tech who had been doing res/commercial work for 30 years about the existence of SH and SC.

    Cachorro,

    Just a few questions:

1.) What were your system pressures before adding refrigerant?
2.) Did you take Superheat and Subcooling measurements?
3.) No airflow restriction?(plugged filter, dirty evaporator coil, blower motor running at correct speed)
4.) What made you think the system was low on charge?
5.) What were the ambient temperatures and indoor wetbulb temperatures?
6.) Last but not least, HOW MUCH REFRIGERANT DID YOU ADD?

Please clear up these questions and possibly get us the make/model numbers of the equipment you are working on so we can TRY to help.

    As always with respect,

    I wasn't laughing.

This happens all too often all over the place. And its because of poor training received by the unknowing, while being led, or thrown to the wolves by uncaring bosses, and or owners.
