Have a system on an 84 deg. day
I'm there for a yearly service.
Liq. 165
Suc. 80
Has a TXV.
Sub cooling tells me that @ 163 deg. I should have 78 deg. liq. temp w/10 deg subcooling.
These were the temps.
85.1 - 91.0
Added ref.
82.7 - 89.7
Added ref.
81.5 - 92
Stopped adding ref.
This was over about a 15 min. period of time. Suc. and Liq. did not change. what's happening?Happiness is the only good. The time to be happy is now. The place to be happy is here. The way to be happy is to make others so.

suction pressure 80
head pressure 165
condenser inlet temp 84
suction line temp 81
high line temp 92
the superheat is high 33 the pressure difference is small
could be a mismatch
causes
oversized evap. coil
the evap has more heat absorbing capacity than the condenser can handle. check the coil model number and the condenser model compare capacities.
or weak undersized compressor
the compressor output is to small for the system rating or the compressor valves are leaking.

Stated Conditions...
Your indicating normal suction pressures with abnormal high superheat, you may be slightly under charged, have an undersized metering device or the RA system is being compromised with severe infiltration into the system.Originally posted by atufano
