I've got a Trane XE1000. The low side shut-off valve on the condenser has a noticeable leak. There is a circlip that holds the valve shaft in the bore, and I'm guessing there are some o-rings on the shaft that are worn out.
Is it worth the time to replace the o-rings and get the valve sealing properly, or should I just put the cap on with some teflon, and forget about it.
Thanks,
Chris

put the cap back on and call someone that can recover the charge -fix the leak-evacuate the system-and properly recharge the system. If you remove the valve stems to replace the o rings you will loose the charge --it must be recovered
