a friend of mine says her fan comes on all by its self..
the t-stat is one of those old round non-digital ones.
its set on auto, and the heat/cooling is in off.

but insists the fan comes on all by its self then shuts off..

can someone give me a clue?

    Where is the unit located.

Some attics get hot enough for the fan/limit switch to start the fan, and then shut it off when the sensor cools.

You may need a resistor between G and C to stop the ghost fan.
The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price has gone.

Primmers.......Im just curious, Now at first I thought you were a homeowner trying to fix a friends furnace. Now I see that you are a tech, from looking at your other posts. Am I right?
