I need to find out the type of refrigerant in my Amana central air conditioning unit. The face plate is worn down and can't be read. The unit is over 15 years old.
The compressor is a copeland #CRG3-0250-PFV.
Is their an easy way to check for the type of refrigerant. I assume its R-22 but I don't want to guess.

Bald is right, but if you're still not happy; get an EPA 608 type II liscense and check it's vapor pressure at ambient against a P/T chart.
