I just got into an argument with my wife about who sells the most central air units. I'm not looking for the best units, I know you guys argue about it all the time (My wife insists its Carrier), just the number one selling by volume. I tried looking it up online but i couldn't find the answer. I appreciate your help.
Also, does anyone know anything about the LG art cool mini splits? How good are they and such. I have a couple of contractors coming in to give me quotes on Central air or the mini splits later on this week and any knowledge you could impart would be helpful.

Historicly, it would be Carrier. The last few years I think it is Goodman.
If more government is the answer, then it's a really stupid question.

As far as single branded name it would be goodman...corporate wise would be the company who manufactures carrier as well as other crap.

I see more Trane builder-grade units in this part of the country than anything else, but this is Florida and we definitely do things different here. Not necessarily right, just different.

I never really thought about it this way but it might be true. I just looked at it as far as who makes the most equipment no matter what name it was sold under ...... CARRIER by far but as far as under one name, Now that may be GOODMANOriginally posted by hackmaster

I remember seeing a forum post from before that listed all of the corporate companies and then each brand they made/sold in order of quality within that company.
For instance, I think United Technologies owns Carrier and Bryant and Payne and Goodman with Carrier and Bryant as better than Payne and Goodman. Trane owns American Standard, etc.
Can someone please point me to that information?

I don't remmember which thread that was, but goodman isn't a member of the utc family.
