I have a Carrier 58PAV that went out several days ago. Tstat is has no display. There is no 24vac present on the control board. 3amp fuse - good. Verified 120vac going into the transformer primary. 0vac on the secondary output. Replaced transformer with a new one and I get the same condition - 120v in and 0v out. Is it likely I have 2 faulty transformers, or is there something I'm missing?? Any suggestions would be appreciated....

The transformer is going bad for a reason. something in your 24 volt control side of the transformer has probably went to ground, like a bare wire touching metal or two control wires that are bare touching each other. i am taking for granted you are using the proper transformer. you might consider calling a professional because the transformers will keep going out if the problem is not found. good luck.

Check your safeties for shorts or ground. I would start with the heating section first (rollout or limit switch). Just a thought.
