I live in a 2-story town home (no basement) that is heated/cooled by a heat pump.
The venting configuration is as follows:
1st floor - heating/cooling ducts are located on either the ceiling or near the ceiling on vertical walls. The return air vents are located near the bottoms of the vertical walls "with the vents facing DOWN."
2nd floor - just the opposite; heating and cooling ducts are located on either the floor or near the bottom of the floor. The return air vents are located near the top of the ceilings "with the vents facing UP."
Is this UP/DOWN facing of the return air vents correct? (I'm afraid that I may have painted them a fews years back and put them on backwards).
Thanks in advance for your help.
