What would be the SEER rating for this system:
Carrier 38YDB024 2 Speed Heat Pump
Carrier FV4BNF002000 Variable Speed Air Handler
(10 KW Electric Heat)
W/Thermidistat
Also, any comments on this system?

14.0 SEER,we have installed lots of 38YDB,and the customers love the comfort.
I'd look at the FE air handler with Infinity Controller,a little more money but well worth it,IMHO.

conflicting information
Which one is it? 14 SEER or 17 SEER? What do I gain with going to Infinity over this system?

My book shows 14.0 SEER,I think he means some size in the YDB line is up to 17 SEER.
Infinity will be the same SEER,but is a more user friendly control, and has greater control over the fan (cfm of air delivered),bettter dehumidification in the cooling mode.
