Help
We are in need of a new Heat Pump. Our old one (an Armstrong 5 ton) is costing us more and more each year in repairs not to mention the $400.00 to $800.00 electric bills. We live in northeast Oklahoma, the summers are HOT and the winters, especially this winter, is COLD. I have several quotes and have narrowed them down to two; but here is where I need some help. One quote is for a Trane 5 ton 13 SEER unit with kw strip and Honeywell thermostat. 5 year parts guarantee, 10 year compressor. Also comes with no lemon guarantee, comfort guarantee, and 2 year labor guarantee. The quote for this unit is $******
The other quote I have is for an Amana 5 ton 13 SEER with 10kw strip. And a 10 year part and labor guarantee. The quote on this unit ******
I have tried to do some research myself but this is another language to me. I realize the $***** price difference, but I am not familiar with an Amana unit. I have heard good and bad things about a Trane. This is a big investment and I don't want to end up with another dud like the one we are replacing. Can any of you smart fellas give me any feedback on this? It sure would be appreciated. Thank you.Last edited by k-fridge; 02-28-2011 at 07:13 PM. Reason: Remove pricing
