    Basements for $10,000

You ever see those companies who promise a complete basement remodel for $10K? Well, one of these STORES who promise these BASEMENT remodels did my customer's house. Unfortunately, it has been a year since they did it so any kind of guarantee is over.

I like the tape nailed into the joist. There were a dozen of these, not to mention the traffic jams of flex turns throughout the job.

    TESP was 1.2" of WC

When will HO's learn that a jack of trades may not be the best route????

At least it's metal tape and not duct tape. That stuff sticks to everything.

Are you redoing some of that for them? Let us know the results if so!

Funny thing was it still had the backing on it.

I'm ripping out all the flex (dryer vent) duct and installing round duct. That one in particular goes from 5" to 6" back to 5". I have to fix yet another hack abortion.

I could fill up 10 seasons with the stuff I've seen just this winter.

Thats why i show other professionals pictures of hackery, not try to run them out of business! Without the virus, the medicine has no purpose.

I don't believe that. All hack companies should be out of business.

When I show pictures of their hackery it is my intention to put them out of business. Go flip burgers and quit screwing our trade up I say.

Problem is most home owners don't know they "have the virus".

True. It seems more are "infected" than not. For any homeowners that happen to stumble upon this thread: if you see someone advertising a full basement (including hvac) for $10,000-run for the hills!

What's missing is a few thumb tacks for screws. Rookie hack mistake.
