Confused American Standard RTU YCD150 testing.

Hi everyone, I'm very new in the field of HVAC, and I'm working with a compmany in general maintenance. They allow me to check the RTU's and figure out what is wrong with it and fix them, which is a new experience for me becaouse I was tring in residential. Well however I have this American Standar RTU that onece the t-stat reach room temp. the hole unit turn off except the inducer motor keeps and running. The LED stays on as normar not telling me any thing. The model # is YCD150D3H0BB. In short words I can not determine what is wrong with it. Some help pls.

Trane had a service bulletin on this problem a few years ago. Trane and A/S are the same thing. If I remember correctly the problem was a short in the power burner motor. Maybe someone around here will be able to produce that service bulletin so you can test it. I found one of these this summer on a 25 ton, the hot humid air was condensing inside the heat exchanger until it started dripping rusty water onto the cash registers down below!!

P.S. I suggest you get someone with more experience to help you with this. Good luck

Thank you very much for your reply. I will try to get the bulletin. And unfortunately I don't know any one with more experience. But I really appreciate your help. Thank you again.

No problem, and welcome to the site. I fairly new here too. I'm trying to get a little bit more active around here now that we're down to 40 hrs a week again.

ycd150 is i believe a single speed draft blower, if solid state controlled u have a stuck clix on relay if controlled by a board the board blower relay is stuck closed

    A side question.

Who thought it was a good idea to take a guy who has no experience on Trane RTU's, new to the field, and not give him someone to show him how to approach these things?

Sounds like you are working for people who lack the first clue themselves....

No it is not that, this is a company who owns some buildings and they hired me as maintenance but taking advantage of my certification they gave me the chance to start checking the unit. If i'm able to fix them they would save some money and I will get experience.
