In a earlier question I wondered if my Carrier 2.5 ton Heat Pump model YZA might be too big as it seems to short cycle in the cool to dehumidify mode. Dash, I think it was said that's the way it should work 10 mins on maximum and 10 mins off. Mine is cycling more often then that. So I just remembered it has a evaporator freeze stat and I'm wondering if it might be causing the short cycling. The theory I have is when the Thermidistat calls for a dehumidification set point and not a cooling set point, the evaporator may be starting to freeze because of the low cfm in the superdehumidify mode and then shuts off the compressor before the actual 10 mins. What do you think, Carrier guy's?
