Comtrol - global inputs
Hi all ,
When assigning global inputs for a task i.e., exhaust fan motor to lock out at 32 degress (oat).should I assign it, say board 17.1 in the 6k and do i have to do a transfer ai task??? Do not fully understand how this actually works. Can anyone explain how this works and their meaning? (Transfer ai's and global inputs although the boards do not really exits.)

Global addresses are not physical points, but rather program virtual points.
In Comtrol if you want to transfer (1) AI value from one 4k to another 4k or 5k or 6k. You would need to create a Transfer AI Task.
Once you build a Transfer AI task it will build a Analog Input and an Analog output in the Task. The AI would be your physical OAT sensor. then your Analog output would be the global value sent out to all other controllers, as AI's.
global addresses are 17.1 through 20.8 (unless you have 4k2e's)
Same applies to Transfer DI. Task wants a DI and a DO...the DO is the tasks global output into other 4k's inputs.
clear as mud? this link will help. http://www.tac.com/data/internal/dat.../F_27261_2.pdf

The oat is in the hvac controller,bd9-pt3 and the controller that has the oat to lock out the exhuast fans at 32 degress are bd 17.1 ,but when i go to the 6k in the 17.1 input is not used.So do i have to create a tranfer task in the hvac controller for the oat then used the avalible point in the 6k?

Yea the OAT sensor in the HVAC controller must be put in a Transfer AI to global so it can be used by other 4k's. here is a little spread sheet i put together. for a clear view, zoom to 200%

See AMBIENT XFER Options Task has (1) AI & (1) AO.
The AI is an actual physical board point address with a temp sensor
the AO is a virtual board point address to be sent out on the global network so the other 4k's may use it as an input value.
