    Never been invited to one there. Usually, someone who is attending a convention one year makes it known that they would like to host the next years convention where they live.

    Then, whoever is decided to be the host, picks out a hotel/motel in their area, arranges for a place to gather on Friday evening as everyone straggles into town, and has a place arranged for a Saturday get together.

    Usually, the Friday night gathering is done at a public area of the hotel/motel, like a rented conference type of room or set aside public area. Saturday during the day is usually left for everyone to do their own thing, get together with like minds and do something of interest locally or just hang around the hotel/motel nurturing a hangover so they can make an appearance Saturday evening.

    Saturday evening is usually a bar-b-que styled get together at a pavillion, rented hall, private yacht or even at the host's home if they are rich and famous and have lots of room for illegal fireworks and such niceties.

    Sunday is a go on home day or get together for one last day for those who don't have to work for a living. Being a usually smaller group, unless you are in Vermont, this is done at the hosts home or remote "end of the world" cabin retreat in the heavily wooded mountains.

    Anyone know where we are going to be next year, as long as things get a little better?

    I just created a new thread since it refers to 2012 instead of 2011.

    Anybody thinking about 2012 Convention? I would like to go to my first one but since last year's was cancelled I don't know if there will be one this year.
    Any thoughts? Date? City? Host?
