Does anyone know if this is a decent unit? I've never heard of this manufacturer, but got a good price estimate on a 13 seer. Its a friend of a friend deal, but its $1000 less than I can get a Trane. I just don't want to have it breakdown when its 95 and my wife is home with a newborn.

We've had good results from them. The new H series unit has a nice, louvered cabinet, wire top & compressor sound cover. Copeland scroll with 10 year warranty. Coils are made by Heatcraft/ADP, another Lennox division. The Trane XLi units are fancier with the funky top and 2 speed fan but they are pricey!

With Trane, you loose SEER if you don't have a variable speed blower. It takes the 14i with a standard blower to get 13 SEER in most cases. The SCU13H48 with TXV on the coil reaches 13 SEER with standard blower.

OK- thanks! Sounds like it should be ok with a TXV.
