How to set heat pump & furnace lockouts?
I have a Carrier Hybrid Heat dual fuel HP w/ NG furnace. According to the Carrier's calculator:
Thermal balance point = 43 F
Economic balance point = 62 F
So how should I set the HP lockout and the furnace lockout?
Suppose next year the utility cost change so that:
Economic BP = 20F
How should I set the lockouts then?

Anyone?
The range of HP lockout is "None" or "<5 F" to "<55 F"
The range of furnace lockout is "None" or ">5 F" to "">55 F"
Seeing as I can't set the HP to lockout at 62 F I have it set to the closest which is "<55 F". What should the furnace lockout be set at? "None"? ">55 F"?

If the economic balance point is 62, not much point in buying a heat pump. That says gas is cheaper below 62. Really don't need much heat above 62 out. So 55 is probably the best bet until the gas price rises and lowers the EPB.
