    Confused Starting fireplace

Starting up my fireplace for the first time and it seem not put out any radiation heat at all. What did I do wrong and what are the advise and how to adjust the damper on it.

    Make and Model?

If it has a glass bi-fold doors I am guessing it is either a prefab ZC wood box, or the wood box with a gas log in it.

Neither of these types of fireplaces are designed to put out heat, they are decorative fireplaces.

I've just talked to people in HVAC class and found out that my fireplace is just for look. They told me that I need a wood stove insert, did a little research and found out that is what I need to heat up the house
