what is the norm in regards to location of a oil fired furnace location in a structure?is only the basment allowed?how about in the attic area?is this a big no no.thanks for your thoughts.

Oil furnace is usually much heavier and difficult for burner pump to pull oil up a flight. Many would worry about oil leak up in attic. Probably not against code in most areas but I doubt anyone would want to lug it up there.
