Welcome Lucky,
You really are lucky to be living in Hawaii!
It is 11 degrees here this morning with a thin sheet of ice on the ground...
Hope you enjoy the site..
The statement below is my signature and just my overall feeling towards our industry and does not necessarily pertain to you nor this thread.
There really isn't a legitimate excuse for not doing the job correctly!

Howdy Lucky
HVAC in H, your kidding right?
My main building contractor calls me and says hey Chuck we're bidding a job in Hawaii need you to look at the mechanical. OK , so i roll out the plans and can't find any units or duct systems.....I look at him and he's just grinning at me and say's yeah this place is on the beach and all they need is a few exhaust fans ??????????????????
Dont it get hot or cold there?

Hey Lucky I lived in Hawaii for 16yrs but haven't been back since 97. My wife and I were just discussing moving there how is the a/c job market. I am from Kihei Maui but would consider other islands. You think I would have to go refrigeration to find a job?

Aloha again to all of you. thanks for the replies.
Flavat- What do you do service or construction. as far as HVAC it's probably going to start booming soon as we head into summer as for now the year around guaranty job is to do refrigeration service, that's what did in Honolulu, but we also had A/C services. You don't want to get laid off if the company slows down especially A/C but Refrigeration you'll have O.T. when you want it, but you probably know that by now. I got kinda burnt out I took alot of my co-workers on-call weeks and it took a toll on my personal life. but it's all good now.
Freezerguy- No and, I hope the guy that you are looking for didn't do anything wrong?
ACFIXR- It depends on location of your home as for homes by the beach that is a necessity due heat and humidity, but homes on higher elevations the temps changes dramatically. But I mainly did Commercial Refrig.& A/C and businesses(stores, restuarants, etc.) needs A/C & Ref. to run. Also it gets humid so creature comfort is a need. Is the exhaust fan your installing for a new constructed building or existing one?
And I hope you all stay safe and have a good one.

Ha ha ha. No, I'm not looking for anyone. I am thinking of relocating to Kona in a few years and getting a feel for the job market for supermarket techs.
Take care."Don't wish it were easier, wish you were better"
