    Is 311U a 2 ton and 411U a 3 ton? Just curious.....thanks

    Look at the nearest 1/2 ton and round up.

    30,000 round up to 311 for 2.5 ton
    36,000 round up to 411 for 3 ton

    Of course without knowing exact evap match and looking at the ratings, could be a several thousand BTU range on any size.

    i was always told the first 2 number equal btu IE 261 is 26,00o btu . 311 31000 and so on its easier to remeber for me anyway
