Why are they junk? May I ask?

Get a Honeywell VisionPro 8000 series and be done with it.
Even the Honeywell "Vision" (a stripped VisionPro) sold at Lowes is a better stat than a Hunter any day.

Let's see how many times???
What did you do to get the heat back on?
Replaced the stat.
Hey I just put that on a couple yrs ago.

Every household should have a hunter thermostat. I recomend them. Its good job security.

Still no answer as to why they are junk.
Been using one for 7 years now. With no problems.
What can one expect to go wrong with one?

my experience with them is that if there is a heat problem and the stat is a hunter, that is the problem. power stealing properties possibly? never had a problem in a/c though
as to going wrong, the intermittantly call for heat

I find that they use cheaper electronics and therefor do not last as long. Plus they suck.

Not every single one is doomed for failure but in the big picture seem to be problematic as far as stats go.
