    Question

    Hello all. I'm new here.

I'm a facility manager, and I'd like to learn a little more about the basic principles of refrigeration.

Do you know of any websites that contain a basic refrigeration crash course for free?

    Sincerely,
    Tom

    Go here:

Welcome to the board, from another facilities manager (me!), recently promoted to that position from building superintendent. I still get my hands dirty and almost daily cuss during my ongoing efforts to reverse years of hackery by others, but hey, never a dull moment!

You can also learn a great deal about HVAC and refrigeration by just hanging out on this board. I've also found value in a subscription to (edit) The ACHR News (thanks, Norm), a weekly publication. Though mainly written for contractors, it has much useful information for service techs, installers, and facilites managers in that it is always covering advances in the HVAC/R industry.

Shophound is correct. Here is the link to the ACHR NEWS online magazine. But I highly recommend you subscribe to the paper edition.

If you want some excellent books to read we can post those as well. Not all HVAC books are all that great. Don't waste your money without asking for our recommendation. I pretty much have all of them. And, have read them all as well. I am willing to post a list of those I highly recommend if you wish. Am also willing to tell you which ones I would not recommend.

Hey guys, thanks for the links. I checked them out. I think I will subscribe to the magazine, and the link on refrigeration is EXACTLY what I was looking for. The animation is pretty cool.

And yes, a list of good books would be helpful as well.

    Sincerely,
    Tom

    Post the lists.

I am way behind on my reading, and don't want to waste time reading poorly written, or inaccurate information.

    Thanks.

Of course, I also highly recommend the technician certification book at the top of this site.
