    Confused goodman 5 ton split sys new..equal rise on pressures

    New system provided by homeowner. Upon initial startup pressures equally rose. By the time it got to 250 on liquid and suction I shut it down... so it basically acts like there is a blockage. There are two pistons in the system one inside and one outside. The outside piston is supposedly located in the liquid service port. The thing doesn't even look like a service port..any help would be much appreciated!!

    There is a no DIY rule on this site.

    We can't offer much help to you unless you prove that you are a professional in the field. We have technical forums to discuss matters like this in.


    That said, I don't think that you are looking at a blockage of any sort.

    Its about 40 ' of lineset...all its got in it now is the charge from the factory..

    Let me ask you why you believe this to be indicative of a blockage?

    Explain.


    Also, did you take readings other than pressures?

    I shut the system down before it had a chance to heat the internal overload.. I will admit that i could be considered a tad green..this will be my fourth year in this field.. I did feel the liquid kins and it was heating..I've just never run into this issue..

    Trying to make a quick buck on the side and things have not panned out so good, hmmm....

    Any co-workers not so green that you could have assist?
