Carrier FE4 cond. pump tie in ?

Contractor #1 installed 2) Carrier FE4 infinity fan coils.
The low voltage saftey of the condensate pumps are not tied in (I found out when the 2nd floor flooded last summer)
Fired #1 (no insurance), units installed and up and running

Contractor #2, Hired him to come in and check the charge on the units and check over the install, $900.00 later, and He does not se how the condensate low voltage can tie into the FE4's Board.

Contractor #3 - he does not know.

So how does the Condensate low voltage "cutout" tie into the Infinity system. I have all the manuals (tech and owner)
and it never mentions the condensate pump ??

Normally you break either the power to the thermostat or if cooling only, break the signal to the outdoor unit. I would think that would still be possible but dash, our Infinity fan, better confirm.

It's one thing ,that Infinities designers overlooked.It can be done though it will cut all low voltage to the control,and provide no display of the problem.

There are 4 wires,two are digital signals for controls,the other two are the 24v power,so you wire it to break the 24 volts.If I remember correctly it's best to interupt "D",double check to diagram to be sure.

If you don't have two speed outdoor units,you can interupt the compressor contactor to the outdoor unit from the air handler.But if it's a two speed compressor the signals are digital,no way to interupt ,so break the 24V.

Maybe the next generation will address this in a better way.

Break D to UI. Kills it all. H/O will know there's an issue at that point.

Bout time your back. Thpought our "local" lad said somethng about breaking the communication line w/ single speed outdoor and D w/ tdb/ydb

oh, and for my brothrs in arms, Carrier has came out w/ a wonderful manual, it has all the heat wave, puron, inf, zone, it is the bible now a days
great book, give it to my techs and i use one to,
lot of gray matter you know.

Got any more info on that manual such as a number or a
title? Is it available for downloading @ the partners site?

dont know about partners but it is a few hundred pages so I suspect it wouold take awhile.

not a catalog number associated with it. something that we put together locally. All current pdf's for service/install on residential products in one binder.
