Thread: air blower not coming on

One wire to the motor capacitor (10mfd)touched metal and one wire insulation burned, but the wire was ok with continuity check. Replaced the capacitor as it malfunctioned and the blower still does not come on either in heat or cool mode. Any suggestions? Unit is a Trane XE-80 indoor heater and AC unit with the condensor unit outside on the ground. Does anyone know where I can get a wiring schematic so I can trouble shoot the electrical system?

Need some info
How many wires to do have. How many connected to the capacitor and what wire are hooked up hot.

Two wires to the capacitor connected to motor. The other wires-Yellow to Heat. Red and blue to park. Black to cool. White to neutral 120vac. The aforementioned wires are connected to the circulator blower side on the White Rodgers Model 50A50-405 board. The yellow,blue,red,black,and white are connected at the other end to the motor. Are you getting power out of the board?

Are you sure you even have power to the furnace. It may have blown the fuse or circuit breaker when the wire shorted.
You might even say it took a dump

shucks, I was a going to ask if the board had a light to tell if it is getting power and if the blower comes on when the tstat is in the fan on position. If no to either one would have to see if power is coming out of the board to run the motor in which case this gentleman is probably going to need the services of a person familiar with high voltage and test equipment and able to purchase motors and boards. A pro that is.
