    School boiler replacement

This boiler room had a flood over the break. We replaced the boiler and added a few upgrades to the system. We fired it up yesterday, works perfect. This was my first chance to use an Lx model. The water line went up to to the electrical panels and the lower ones needed to be replaced. Before.

    After.

    just a question or two

    1-is that steam?

    2-why isn't the piping insulated?

3-did you change the "A" or "B" dimension?

    if it's not steam # 2 & 3 are immaterial

    looks good though

i can remember having to work on boilers and then find out they were under water

This is hot water. Not sure about A or B dimension?? And apparently the service tech who responded was asked to get the old one fired up. He said we can't and it is a requirement to replace it. This is an insurance job and the existing piping wasn't insulated. Not sure if they would pay for us to insulate.

"A" &"B" dimensions are related to steam piping

Doubt it. Had to do a steam to water conversion last month so they would meet the regs for tax rebate, since there's no steam boilers that meet the regs.

"Dude, you need more than 2 wires to a condenser to run a 2 stage heatpump."

    "Just get it done son."

Burnham makes a 86% AFUE steam boiler, the most efficient one I've heard of.

lol, yeah it's in a small town and I think it's K-7. They shut down the school for an extra week to get the mess cleaned up.
