Merged your 2 threads on the same subject/problem. Please don't make duplicate threads across the forums, thank you.

You should get your post count up to 15 and apply for pro membership. Once accepted, you'll have access to the pro tech forums.
We also have a pro oil burner forum, where you would get many answers to this question.

    freonfrog723,

but you need to have pro status to get some help from tech's because there is no DIY. There is a whole oil heating forum in the professional area with tons of information and helpful technicians. There is a number of things that could be causing this. Are you a technician or a homeowner looking for some help.

Needless to say, please make sure you read the rules!

Single or 2 line? May need to sell em a return. Hear they are much less problemmatic.
Which makes more sense to you?
CONSERVATION - turning your thermostat back and being uncomfortable. Maybe saving 5-10%
ENERGY EFFICIENCY - leaving your thermostat where everyone is comfortable. Saving 30-70%

DO THE NUMBERS! Step on a HOMESCALE.
What is comfort? Well, it AIN'T just TEMPERATURE!

Energy Obese? An audit is the next step - go to BPI.org, or RESNET, and find an auditor near you.
