Authorized D/B tech from NJ here (MSC,REP). Your verticles are junk. WCFX wouldn`t be a bad machine if the compressors lasted more than 7000 hours before the slipper seals went and you have to throw an otherwise perfectly good compressor away.
Hope this helps

When was the last time you have installed one D/B WCFX or anyother of there chillers? B/C there have been alot of improvements to MSC and those improvements seem to work. And what do you think of the air handlers?

I' have worked with some of the oldest models and they are ok, very easy to figure out, simple piping, valves, controls etc. also the tech support dpt is small but helpful.
I'experienced more anoying problems with yorks or trane than with your pretty blue machines.

You sell the units cheap and then it's hammer time when you need parts for it. Your parts prices are ridiculous.
Units are marginally decent......sometimes.Hey cockroach, don't bug me! ©

Work? Work for who? The manufacturers rep that is selling them. Save your breath. MSC s are still junk and I won`t even bring up the oil loss issues which are always field application problems according to anyone at D/B. You asked and so far you are 0 fer 2 on this subject. I expect the popular opinion will continue to be largely negative.
Let`s wait and see.

havent been around anything installed in the last five years, but before that i'm not a fan. oil loss.....it must be condenser water issues, it must be that someone.......have heard about fifteen different excuses from the same tech on the same machine. the local rep is not real helpful. have heard these advertised as quiet, so to be let in schools, then when started up dont come anywhere near the DB ratings imo.

Your traps are OK, and the replacement parts selection is phenomenal for various hard to get, out of business manufacturers.
Other than that I have no exposure to anything else you guy's deal in.

well, I've been taking care of a PCWX and a PCX, to the date the only trubles that I' encounter was with the guardpak II and one of the temp sensors in the PCWX.Other than being loud ,They both are pretty good, It kind of piss me off cause other than Quater-Annual PMs we dont get any business out of them.

I must say the compressors make great boat anchors.

qouted a replacement compressor for a helical rotary screw.
the loca d/b rep came in under half our price. their sales staff went out and quoted a bid , unsolicited, after determing the job we were bidding on. i believe they screwed us on the compressor price they quoted us. i would expect that from trane but we had a decent relationship with the d/b rep.

Yeah, if you have to buy parts from their "reps", who are merely other contractors in your area who you have to buy through, it is hard to mark them up very much and not look like a bandit.
