ReplyI originally posted misinformation. I looked at my spreadsheet wrong. But according to my handy Lennox tool, the original system you were quoted DID qualify for the federal tax credit, but the XP16 does not.

Last month I contracted for an XP14 heat pump and with it a CBX27UH-024-230*+TDR indoor unit. I wanted to get the Federal Tax Credit before the end of the year and also replace an aging system. At the last minute an XP16 was substituted and I'm wondering if this can provide the same performance as the XP14. The indoor unit was not changed. Any thoughts about this. Are these 2 pieces of equipment matched? Thanks
