York blower noise on start up

HAVE A new York PT9C16N080 Furance and on a heat start up in low fire I get a blower motor humming noise for about 10-15 seconds until the blower reaches running rpm. I was told it might be due to the motor being so new and tight? Once it breaks in it might go away? I don't buy this reason but I don't want to put a new motor back in and have the same problem.

is this motor new.what votage and is it cap started

Check the cap first, and then if your using med speed for heat, try it on high, if it still makes the noise, it won't get any better later.

Voltage is 121 volts, replaced the capacitor already still same noise. Why should I change the blower speed up? On low fire I only need the lower blower speed on 2nd stage the blower goes into high heat speed.

Some times motors make noise on low speed start up when their new.
If you put it on med, or high, and start it that way, and it still makes noise, its not going to get any better with time, so you know to change it.

Its just a test.

Put it back on the normal speeds that you need afterward.

If that is a high efficiency unit it might be the purge fan (I believe that is the correct term) kicking in, after the burners are lit and reach temperature, the circulator blower engages.

does blower motor make same noise on all speeds . If multi speed motor. maybe low winding is bad or low term is not 120 on board.

Its the indoor blower motor for sure, it only makes the noise on the low speed tap. Higher speed taps don't make the same noise. again its on start up for about 8-12 seconds, sounds like a start up issue to me but it runs fine once it reaches runing rpms.

Funny 6 years later on a York 80% I have same problem, change motor and capacitor voltage is 125 Motor drags on start up like its struggling to reach RPM??? Not good

Is that voltage measured on the wires to the blower, or incoming to the furnace.

Had 123 volts from voltage terminal on board to board neutral. So relay and board are working. Its a run capacitor PSC motor. Funny thing is the sound is like a howl sound. New motor, new capacitor, nothing rubbing at all. Thinking of having MFG get me entire blower assembly under warranty. What else can it be??? bad motor line?

I'd try another motor and see if it does the same.
