You need either a simple theoretical type name,or just use your last name or something and add mechanichal to it, when a facility manager needs to take your proposal into a meeting with higher ups he will be reluctant to show yours if it is some goofy play on words type name. JMHO
Like Beenie and Reaky said, getting in some sort of geograpical location thingy is always good.
And Eddy is right about the goofy name.
That's why his outfit is not called Fat Eddy's HVAC Band Of Merry Men.

Whaddaya want? whaddaya thinking of so far? Where do you live?
Ouch ouch! I know I know! I asked him where he lived........... AAAaaaaafter I suggested the cartooney names! My shop has my last name because I live in a cluster of pretty small towns and I want to work in all of them. My family has been in the service biz right here since covered wagons so my last name has the Grey Hair Factor. Different in larger pops.
How bout just "Local Refrigeration"
Then if ya get booted out of town you don't have to buy new shirts.
My doctor gave me six months to live, but when I couldn't pay the bill he gave me six months more.
I always felt as though you could not split heating and air-conditioning,it seems to me that they aren't really married and can exist alone but they seem to see each other an awful lot,but trying to think along the lines of a catchy name that may exclude some nuisance heating calls I was coming up with these.
1.Smith & Sons Cooling & Refrigeration ONLY!!
2.Mikes ACV&R services Ink.
3.Most Mechanical Things , Mech,
4.Hope You Freeze In Winter, Cooling & Refrigeration
5.A\C 21 HEATING 0
6.Never Say Heat, Air Conditioning
7.Blank & Cooling & Refrigeration and Sons.
8.I work 1\2 a year Cooling
9.I need Your Money, but Only In The Summer ACV&R
10. Ron & Brother In-laws & Cousins & Sons ACV & R

You better if you want to work a lot. Customers will not call someone for A/C and someone else for heating. It doesn't work that way.
Go with a big sounding, important name, don't use your own name. Anything "mechaincal" is usually good. [/B]
Yes, heating if I have to. Been on my own for 13 years now. I don't advertise in the YP under heating. I have no desire to do residential heating, but I'll do A/C. I'm 65% commercial refrigeration, 25 commercial A/C and 10% residential A/C. Most times, during A/C season, I'm already working 70+ hours a week doing reefer work, so, the only way I take any residential is if I'm between calls and it's close. I usually won't make an appt for res service cause I have enough to do already. If it's a commerical customer, and I do their A/C, I'll take their heat too. I'd much rather have time off in the winter though, and recharge the batteries for April - Oct. I'm getting too old to be on a snow-blown roof at 0°.
Well, I have a few so far, ending in mechanical. But we won't be a true mechanical contractor - no plumbing. I hate anything called "<fill in the blank> HVAC". I'm currently "<blank> Refrigeration", but I have some customers that don't know I do A/C too. I have a big sounding name, and people think I'm much larger than I am. I find anything Refrigeration to be too limiting.
