Currently a one-man band. Looking to form a new entity. Majoring in commercial refrigeration and air conditioning, heating if I have to, and little residential. Looking for a clever name. Ideas?

    11111AAAAA Air, Inc.

This will put you right up front, and is guaranteed to make your phone ring with every frugal customer out there calling you for the big savings after you tell them you are number 1 with a 5A rating.

What do ya mean by heating if you have to?
You better if you want to work a lot. Customers will not call someone for A/C and someone else for heating. It doesn't work that way.
Go with a big sounding, important name, don't use your own name. Anything "mechaincal" is usually good.

    Talking Business Name

Why not add an "R" to your post name, and call yourself HVACR-Doctor (MD).

Dice chose a geographical name as I did. The chances of you getting a new customer is pretty good that the person is new to the community too. Be it commercial or residential---sometimes both.

If you are just moving into Cleveland for instance and you were looking for an HVAC company. Then any type of advertising with Cleverland Heating & Cooling, Cleverland Mechanical etc. would catch your eye. Besides it makes you look like an old establish firm. "As old as the town itself!"

I have been out of business for awhile, but if I had to do it again, the company name would have location and the service provided in it.

I live in Minnesota so it would be like: Minnesota Temperature Control. This would create a problem for me now, because I live right on the Minnesota/North Dakota border. The largest city, which is 1 mile away is Grand Forks, ND so, in this case, I wouldn't use the name above because I would like to service both Minnesota and North Dakota and that could possibly take away from that. I definitely would have Temperature Control or Air Control or something of that nature in the name.

    Thanks
