    thanks guys ! I'm looking for work in residential and light commercial. I want a job really bad in Hvac and im really excited to get a chance to work in the field.

    what wage would you expect to make ? and what benefits would you ask if they offered?

    Interviews go both ways. When they ask you "you have any questions?" Make sure you ask about the company and show interest in the interviewers' background. Remember, people like to talk about themselves. trust me it works. good luck!

    ..How did the co. start? What year did it start? How many guys work there? What's the long term goals of the co.? you know, kinda suck up to them. they like that..haha

    You applying for sales?

    Leave the tennys at home. Wear a work boot, but not new.
    A stain or two on a shirt (but not from food) helps too.

    Think before responding to any question. Even if you know the answer readily, count to three, then respond. Shows that you can analyze/interpret.

    When asked about your schooling, brag about any accomplishments, this will probably be the last time you can brag about any accomplishments for several years so make use of it. Tell what interested you. If you feel comfortable covering subjects that didn't interest you or you didn't do well in, mention but don't elaborate on them. Keep most things positive.

    I remember one interview towards the end the guy said something like, "tell me 6 things that you expect from the company." My mind went blank..... but I recoverd and mentioned pay, benefits, training when needed, safety, etc. and came out of it. Then he and I discussed a few more. He knew that question threw me. I was geared towards the "what I can do for the company" thinking.

    That interview went over 2 hours and he filled two pages on a legal pad. (Don't let that bother you, they are the interviewers notes for a lot of reasons, some of it I think was his grocery list too.)

    Good one to be prepared for:
    Might inquire about a van, gas purchase, how it is serviced and what they expect you to do, but keep it short.

    On call duties. May as well know up front what is expected. Slow times, lay offs etc.

    Uniforms, clothing requirements, tools and materials that are furnished etc.

    That's a few things to think about. Practice at home with a family member or by yourself. Don't fidgit, sit still and if you get into a long interview, take a break by getting a drink or bathroom. This can be done and sometimes the interviewer will ask if you want something. Take it, he probably wants a break too.
