Carrier 58mec two stage heat question

    Carrier
    Model: 58mec
Non-two stage thermostat- runs in adaptive mode

It is my understanding that this unit is a two speed blower motor with hi/lo burners.

I asked my installer about the operation and he said it was single speed and hi/lo burners. I have found that it only fires on all burners. The temperature differential is never more than 1 degree and I would guess that the CPU would call for low but never seems to. The manual states that if power is interrupted that all the CPU temperature history is deleted and the unit will initially fire on low. I unplugged the unit for 5 minutes then set the stat 1 degree higher than ambient and it fires on high.

I don't want to know how to correct the below just be informed when I call the installer.

    A. Can this model be set to fire on high/all burners only?
    B. Is the blower motor two speed?
    C. Shouldn't this unit honestly be set to operate on a two stage stat instead of adaptive mode?
    D. Any other advice?

This is expensive equipment to be operating at the low end of it's capabilities. I appreciate any input.

Two stage stat would always be best.

    It's not an infinity furnace.....

The furnace is two speed blower and gas valve. All the burners ALWAYS lite, they just lite at different pressures. 2 stage thermostat would be best.
    I wish I had a $1.00 for every response I deleted.....

"Decidedly Superior in a twisted pathetic way".....
