could i just replace it or do i have to retrofit compressor.

Good question bad, I don't think you can but I could be wrong. I'll find out though. If no one can give you the right answer you may want to be safe and retrofit. that may prevent problems in the future.

See this thread. Read it all the way, and carefully. The answer is in there. Basically, it depends on what the compressor is meant to use. Some can use different refrigerants to acheive different applications, some are meant for just one.
The oil is OK for it, but you may have to change the TXV.
