Decent salary, benefits and vacation just about anywhere.

Looking for HVAC equipment sales or technical representative position or any other job in our industry that my skills and knowledge can be put to good use.

Short story; came into the industry in the sheet metal fabrication end, owned/operated commercial/industrial sheet metal shop while going to college for design and engineering of HVAC systems, owned residential/light commercial contracting company, spent several years as technical rep for several brands of equipment. Currently finishing up a technical advisory position for analyzing hurricane affected systems for a foreign government.

At 51 years of age I figure I can give a good 15 years of service to a company. Email links are not allowed, so I can be reached at RoBoTeq@roboteq(dot)info

Thanks for the info guys. I will be sending out my resume when I get back to the states. It is difficult to do that sort of thing from here.

KBR is the division of Halliburton that I was originally contacted by. One of their recruters led me down a very bad path. If I could get my hands on that guy I just may be spending my time in a cell instead of at a job. A lot of things were stated in negotiations that were either just not true or could not be done. I have many emails showing that Halliburton is a very screwed up company when it comes to recruiting professionals for going to war zones.

It seems that Halliburton is relying on people who are desperate to work so they can treat them how they feel like treating them. And we wonder why things like the mess in the prison at Abu Graib happen. That was the first place Halliburton wanted to send me but they were only giving me a weeks notice to leave.

With Goodman having been bought out and my position there having been filled by someone I think is a good replacement, there does not seem to be an opening there at this time. I would like to rejoin Goodman in my region as a sales rep but the current Sales Manager is a real jerk. He keeps losing all of his good salespeople because he thinks only of himself and puts people in harms way with things that he should be taking care of. So, that just wouldn't work out right now.

I really do think I am best suited for outside sales at this time. My technical background and ability to help contractors put together beneficial systems along with my ability to do training programs for contractors has all got to be a benefit for sales.

I can also immediately take a part time position teaching in a local community college that I was doing a 3rd year apprenticeship class for before I left.

Now that I got my mid-life crisis thing out of the way I am looking forward to giving my last 15 years of service to a company that can make the most use of me.

If you can stand a HUGE cut in pay, but not bad benefits, apply for full time teaching.

We are supposed to add another FT instuctor this fall.
    Nothing unti then, though.

Find my email on my profile, if you want to talk about it.

Sorry for the delay in answering. I cannot always post on all threads on this forum due to my island-air-internet service I am currently using.

Anyway, I am not interested in full time teaching. First off, I don't believe in the way the programs are taught to those who need to know how to be good field technicians. A lot of theory has turned many potentially good techs away from going to any training classes.

I believe I would be most useful in a sales or technical troubleshooting position. I have become quite good at figuring out what happened to cause a system to fail after the fact and can certainly apply that knowledge to keep contractors from making those mistakes.

I am always open to do training seminars and am looking forward to doing them again for RSES meetings and hopefully for whoever I wind up with.
