    tube cleaners

we have recently aquired a chiller as part of a maintenance agreement. i need to buy a tube machine. this is the only one we have under contract. i know goodway is the standard but i am looking for something cheaper. we don't do enough of these to justify spending big bucks on a machine. back in the day i used copper pipe with a adapter on one side for the brush and a hose bib adapter on the other for water and plenty of elbow grease!

any recomendations on a affordable but functional machine?

Get a Goodway and be done with it.

Goodway is pretty much the most bang for your buck. They run the gamut of size and speed and cost. Their smallest machine (don't remember the model) should do you fine. Elliott makes tube cleaning gear, but it's higher end. Thomas C. Wilson also makes machines along with their tubing gear. Of course, there's always the drill......

I love my Jet Mate Maxi Vac. Very compact and has as much guts as a Goodway. Reverses for those internaly enhanced tubes also.

application is always to be considered but if not a gateway would use a wilson holds up well. Takes up very little space if a apprentice isnt carrying it for you!!!!

    I only use Goodway?
I have a customer with a few 1000tr chillers, does their own tubes.
I have seen their machine, it is orange? They are cheaper than hell!
I will see what it is and repost!

I'll ad my voice to the Goodway chorus.

I've used a rod - very bad for the tubes,
a drill - very bad for me,
a hydro gun - it shot the brush thru the tube, fun to use, not very effective,
    and a Goodway.
At the last facility I worked at we even had a Goodway Tower Basin Vac, once we made some custom wands to get under the fill it was awsome.
