Am I supposed to get something from carrier regarding the 10year parts and labor? ie some kind of proof of warranty etc??

good luck you should recieve warranty papers although some contractors sell you 10yr p+l then never purchase from the company itself. i would contact carrier corp.just to make sure you get your warranty,just went out on a carrier 90 plus dualfuel 14 seer heatpump home buyers warranty they had 10 yr p+l didnt even know it they were out 80 bucks deductible

Even under the best of conditions, it can take up to 3 months to get your Carrier parchment IF it was a Carrier extended warranty your contractor purchased for you. Thier are several vendors selling extended warranties.
Ask your contractor for documenation that he ordered it for starters - then find the local Carrier rep.
