I was thinking of getting rid of the carpet in the house. "Grandchildren, Koolaid, Wheelchairs ". Then switching to wood or some kind of laminate floor covering. Any ideas?

wood is noiser and you have to clean more frequently and if something is spilled it is slippery or sticky or both

I grew up on hard wood and loved them. The one downside is cold feet. If the space below is not conditioned you will always wear socks or house shoes, and I don't do house shoes. Regaurdless I would not hesitate switching to them right now because of the beauty involved and when our carpet gets to where it don't clean up good it's coming out and the hardwood is getting refinished..
