If a 480 sq. ft. room only has 1602 BTU/hr gain and 2905 btu/hr loss and only requires a 61 cmf flow, what size duct would you use?

Have you or your contractor performed a load calculation for your house? What does it call for in equiptment capacity?

uktra, by your calcs i could use a 5 0r 6 inch flex to that room,im not a duct desighner and dont claim to be,i have heard having houses really tight can cause proplems and needing a fresh air intake. What size would you use?If we put a six in each room i would figure that we could cover 10 rooms,i dont know, thats why I asked you. I personally dont think it can work,,but if it can i would like to know how someone would distribute 1000cfms over 4500 square feet, say 15 probably more rooms in a house thats 2 storys

Go with a geothermal system like water furnace or even Trane.
