Newbee Lon Help w/Circon
First off I have done a few Lon jobs in the past, but handful of controllers, I set up the networks with LN Builder, discovered in the nae and done. No I am not the branch btw.
I am currently going to bring in existing Circon VAV's. I will be using LNS Turbo Edition.
Job has current Circon VI Graphic workstation, and the looks like the utilites I need under the BIN directory at the workstaion are NOT registered/authorized, so I cannot use them.
Does have APPS directory with lots of XIF files so that is good.
Couple basic questions:
Is there a way to find out Neuron ID's without having to go hit every pin? Figure the workstation has them linked some where but so far unable to find them. Note did find a .NXE file that looks like might have something in it.
Using LNS turbo, I want to setup a new network and hopefully discover them with this? How do I know domain used, channel etc? Any other gotcha's I should look out for?
Any help pointing me in the right direction would be appriciated.

What version of VI?
Does it have Network Editor or Network Integrator?
What model VAV's?
LNS era VI had a report that would print out all the nodes, names and ID's.
That VI workstation is actually some nice software. You should investigate it thoroughly before considering removing it.

If it's LNS, you can use just about anybody's config tool, including LonMaker to get Neuron IDs. I agree with Sysint...don't throw out the baby with the bath water!
