If you use Firefox try this, pages load much faster for me now so I thought I would share this.
open a new tab (ctrl t), type in about:config and hit enter
Scroll down and look for the following:
Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading
Change the entries as follows:
Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true" by double clicking on it.
Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true" by double clicking on it.
Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to 100 by double clicking on it and entering 100. This setting instructs Firefox to make 100 requests at once.
Then using the same method change these remaining settings to...
network.http.max-connections : 64
network.http.max-connections-per-server : 21
network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server : 8
Let me know if it speeds things up for you, and if you screw up and change the wrong thing dont blame me
